GROUP TRAINING

BASIC PUPPY

GENERAL INFORMATION

You will find our group classes are not your average, run of the mill, pet food store experience. Our very unique approach to teaching in this format is methodical, efficient, and practical to learn the skills you need to work through real-life scenarios and distractions. As our trainers coach alongside you on proper correction, timing, leash handling, and learning to read your dogs body language you will begin to learn how to train your dogs in a way that is meaningful and effective.

Our past and current customers have hailed our group classes as informative, detailed, interactive, and a great platform to navigate a variety of troublesome behavioral issues along with learning correct on-leash techniques and the start of a foundation for off-leash commands.

CLASS OVERVIEW:

Obedience

  • loose leash walking
  • sit
  • down
  • wait (At thresholds)
  • Park it (Go to bed spot.)
  • Leash handling skills
  • Reading dog’s body language and poor expression
  • Effective correction with timing and intensity

Behavioral

  • Jumping up
  • Play mouthing
  • Excitability/Stimulated responses
  • Troubleshooting environmental issues in the home
  • Some mild to semi-moderate aggression issues (Trainer will determine eligibility.)

This class is NOT for dogs with acutely advanced behavioral issues. Should your dog display these behaviors in the first class and become too much of a “distraction” then we will refer you out of that class and into another one of AK-9’s training programs that are better suited for your needs. If your dog clearly displays forward or aggressive behavior toward other dogs and/or people you will need to please send us an email describing what your dogs needs are.

Age Limit:

4 months up to 11.5 months.

Required Vaccines:

  • Rabies (1 or 3 year)
  • DAPP/DAHPP/DAHLP (1 or 3 yr)
  • Bordatella (Every 6 months)

Class Fee:

$270 (includes 6 classes. 1st class orientation without dog.)

PREPAYMENT IS REQUIRED TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT IN CLASS. We update the website regularly with class availability and we will always email you back if you have registered for a class that is full or has been rescheduled due to class size. {Minimum occupancy 6 students & maximum occupancy 10 students}

BOARDING & DAYCARE PREREQUISITE

This class also serves as a prerequisite to our private boarding and daycare services.  If this is a long term goal for you, please make sure to speak to your trainer in class so they can determine eligibility.
