Group Training Classes

Our group classes are not your average pet store experience. We take a methodical, efficient, and practical approach that equips you with real skills to handle real-life scenarios and distractions.

As our trainers coach alongside you, you’ll gain confidence in:

Proper correction and timing

Leash handling skills

Reading your dog’s body language

Building a strong foundation for both on-leash and early off-leash commands

Our clients consistently love these classes for their interactive, informative, and detailed instruction, as well as the variety of behaviors and skills addressed.

⚠️ Note: This class is not for dogs with advanced behavioral issues. If your dog displays forward or aggressive behavior toward people or other dogs, please email us first to discuss their needs. If a dog becomes too disruptive during class, we may recommend a different Alert K-9 program better suited to their situation.

Age Requirement

4 months to 11.5 months

Required Vaccinations

Rabies (1 or 3 year)

DAPP/DAHPP/DAHLP (1 or 3 year)

Bordetella (every 6 months)

Class Details

Fee: $325 (includes 6 classes)

Orientation: First class is orientation without your dog

Prepayment required to reserve a spot

Class size: Minimum 6 students, maximum 10 students

We update class availability regularly on our website and will email you if the class you registered for is full or rescheduled.

 

BOARDING & DAYCARE PREREQUISITE

Prerequisite for Boarding & Daycare

This class also serves as a prerequisite for our private boarding and daycare services.

If long-term boarding or daycare is your goal, please speak with your trainer during class. They will help determine your dog’s eligibility based on current behavioral needs.

If your trainer approves a boarding/daycare evaluation, please email us to schedule your appointment.

⚠️ Disclaimer: Completing an Alert K-9 Training Program does not guarantee your dog’s eligibility to participate in boarding and/or daycare privileges.

WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS

 #1 class/Student Orientation (1 hour):

 • NO DOG

 • Proof of shots: Rabies (1 or 3yr), Bordatella (every 6 months), DHPP/DAPP/DHAPP (1yr) 

• Questions for Q & A

 #2 thru #6 training classes (1 hour):

 • bring dog with training collar on snug and leash on attached properly.

 6ft leash (leather or nylon 3/4 inch or smaller)

 • Training collar (i.e. flat collar, prong or choke chain)

 Happy Howie soft treats cut into small cubes and put in baggie (You can purchase these  in the AK9 office)

WHAT NOT TO BRING

unregistered dog

extend-a leash or tab leash

head halti or harness (unless trainer has approved it.)

hard compressed treats (i.e. biscuits/bones etc.)

Our Continuing Education & E-Collar Combo Classes are designed for dogs of all ages (and their handlers) who have been preapproved by Ryan and have already completed one of our programs:

Reinforce and strengthen the skills you’ve already learned

Improve leash handling techniques

Advance into a higher-level skillset

Emphasize repetition, maintenance, and problem-solving for training and behavioral issues that may arise

E-Collar Training (Dogtra)

As part of this program, we provide hands-on instruction on how to properly use the Dogtra e-collar unit. You’ll learn:

Safe and effective handling of the Dogtra system

Correct timing and intensity for communication

How to integrate e-collar work into your existing obedience foundation

Building confidence in both you and your dog with modern e-collar techniques

Off-Leash Option

The Off-Leash Class requires preapproval prior to registration.

Only qualifying dogs are eligible.

Class Details

If a class is full or canceled due to class size, we will notify you by email.

Maximum class size: 8 students.
